The Japanese Summer Festival was held in federation Square, Melbourne on 24th February. Every year the number of visitors are increasing, last year recorded around 40,000 people visited this biggest annual festival for Japanese community in Melbourne.


This year remarks its 10th anniversary of the Melbourne Japanese Summer Festival. It is one of the most popular events for Japanese community in Melbourne. The visitors can try a variety of Japanese soulfood and beverages from green tea to beers. There were many performances lined up throughout the day. Taiko performance by Wadaiko Rindo, especially attracted hundreds of people to the stage by their breathtaking dynamic performance. 

Hundreds of people also enjoy Bon-Odori, a traditional Japanese dance circling around Yagura, the raised stage.
