Kengo Hasuo, publisher and editor for a Japanese free magazine Japaralia, talks about how he came about the idea of publishing a free magazine focusing on lifestyle in Sydney.

Mr Kengo Hasuo came to Sydney in 1992 as a working-holiday maker. After working for a local Japanese magazine for 11 years, Mr Hasuo decided to do something new.

In March 2003, Mr Hasuo left his job. Three months after his resignation, the first issue of Japaralia was published.

Mr Hasuo has been living in Sydney for more than 30 years. What keeps him in Sydney? Have a listen.
