Mari Shimizu, the beloved voice of Atro Boy over four decades is in Australia!

Astrocon II is set to take place in Sydney and Melbourne, featuring a special guest Mrs. Mari Shimizu, the original voice of the iconic anime character Astro Boy! (15-16 November)


Japan’s anime history cannot be told without Astro Boy, the nation's first domestically produced TV animation series. Although the series premiered more than 60 years ago, in 1964, Astro Boy remains one of the most beloved anime characters around the world today.

Mrs. Mari Shimizu, who provided the voice of Astro Boy from its inception, continued in the role for 40 years. She is currently visiting Australia for the first time and is set to make an appearence at Astro Con II, which will take place on the 15th November at Sydney's Customs House and on the 16th at Melbourne's Oaks on Market.
