Yuiko Masukawa has been Principal Artist at Melbourne City Ballet since 2013. She has been playing major roles for the company since then and also has taken up a responsibility to train young dancers in Australia.
“I’ve just loved ballet since I was 3 years old”, said Yuiko. She was not tall, or particularly fast at learning choreography. However, she has never given up. She has always been self-disciplined and has put the whole soul into the roles that she played.
She shares her story of how a little Japanese girl’s dream came true to become Principal Artist.
