The United Kingdom's King Charles III is about to be crowned also as Australia's king.
A Roy Morgan poll taken just days after the death of Queen Elizabeth found 60 per cent of respondents supported remaining a monarchy as opposed to becoming a republic with an elected president.
Pure Profile polling, commissioned by the Australian Republic Movement and conducted last month, found 64 per cent either somewhat or strongly agreed with the statement: “The concept of monarchy is the opposite of Australian values like equality and a fair go.”
