Kazuko Chalker moved to Sydney in 1973 with her husband and two young children. After working for a travel agency for over 20 years, she took on the important role at a Japanese community group, Japan Club of Sydney (JCS). Kazuko began studying art at the University of Sydney at the age of 68. She is also one of the Japanese-language volunteer guides at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
