Japan's Naomi Osaka and Kei Nishikori are both through to the quarter final after the tough matches on Day 8.


First match of the day at Rod Laver Arena, Osaka went against Latvia's Anastasija Sevastova on Day 8 of the Australian Open. The Japanese fourth seed won 4-6, 6-3,6-4. 

On that evening, Kei Nishikori's fouth round was against Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta, World's No.23. He came 2 sets down and won the super tiebreak, 6-7(8), 4-6, 7-4(4), 6-4, 7-6(8). Total play time recorded 5 hours and 5 minutes, another epic match for Nishikori.
