As UN COP30 kicks off, Greenpeace has criticised countries for their slow progress in cutting greenhouse gas emissions. Sudan's paramilitary Rapid Support Forces has agreed to a proposal for a humanitarian ceasefire. ASIO has warned this week that there is a realistic possibility that a foreign government could attempt to assassinate a person it deems a dissident on Australian soil.
