What is Plastic Free July? Japanese mums share information on how to join the movement

Plastic Free July, a global initiative to reduce plastic, started in Australia in 2011.

KoKeBee is an eco-business started by Sydney-based Japanese mums in 2016.  Ms Yoshiko Butler, a Sydney-based Japanese mum of a 19-month old girl, joined KoKebee about 4 years ago and now she is a co-representative of the business.

KoKeBee has been offering DIY beeswax wraps workshops as part of their efforts to reduce plastic waste.  They also translate information on Plastic Free July into Japanese and share them on their Facebook group page.

In the audio, Ms Butler talks about what KoKeBee does and shares some tips to reduce plastic waste.  Ms Butler says you can start from small things such as a using a plastic product you already have for longer.  She also shares what she does to reduce plastic waste while raising a 19-month old girl.
