Passengers on flights from Asia to Australia alerted as coronavirus cases jump

NSW Health is alerting passengers who were on five separate flights from Asia in the past week after a number of people tested positive for coronavirus.

A tenth coronavirus case has been confirmed in Victoria as six more people tested positive to the virus in New South Wales, bringing Australia's total to more than 40 cases.

The most recent COVID-19 diagnosis in Australia, a Victorian man in his 30s, developed symptoms four days after arriving in Melbourne from Iran on 26 February.

State health authorities confirmed that he was now recovering in isolation at home.
