Today’s discussion examines the situation of Australian women and children detained in Roj camp in north-eastern Syria. The camp, administered by the Autonomous Administration of north-eastern Syria, houses families of foreign nationals allegedly associated with the Islamic State. Many of the children have lived most — if not all of their lives within the camp’s confines. In this interview, Khalid Ibrahim of the External Relations Department of the Autonomous Administration provides insight into current conditions, with particular attention to the circumstances facing the Australian women and children.
