Paris was more than just a backdrop for Lara Dizeyee—it was a cultural celebration, a moment to introduce her Kurdish heritage on the global stage. Reflecting on the significance of her Paris debut, Lara explained how it contrasted with her first fashion show in Milan. “Milan enchanted me,” she said. “It was different—more intimate. The storytelling journey with fabric, movement, and presence created a dialogue between the past and the present. It’s from the heart, and I believe everyone will feel that difference.”
For Lara, this is a defining moment in her career. It’s not merely about fashion; it’s about identity, history, and representation. “Bringing Kurdish clothes and my designs to the global stage means more than showcasing couture. It means placing Kurdish culture into the international conversation where it has always belonged.”

Yet, this journey comes with its challenges. Lara spoke candidly about the immense responsibility she carries: “I’m not just creating dresses; I’m representing a culture on the world stage. Every detail must honour that. Balancing the bigger vision with logistics, sponsorship, and expectations has been intense, but completely rewarding.”
Looking ahead, Lara invites audiences to expect “the fire and soul of Kurdish heritage,” with tributes to resilience and rebirth. “Expect to feel the spectrum of emotions—love, loss, hope, and strength. Milan will not just be a show. It will be a journey, a journey from the heart.”
The heart of Lara’s work lies in its powerful message. “There’s always a message behind my designs: never give up. Even in the darkest moments, there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. My designs are about moving forward with faith and believing that somehow, it’ll all work out.”

Her inspiration draws deeply from the iconic symbols of Kurdistan, the resilience of Kurdish women, and the region’s rich history. “And of course,” she adds, “my lifelong love for design.”
Fashion for Lara has never been about superficial glamour. “It was always a part of me. Fashion design is a way to express how I feel and what I want to say through art and fabric.”
After nine months of long hours and sleepless nights crafting her Milan Enchanted collection, Lara looks forward to the moment she’s been waiting for—the runway at Milan Fashion Week on September 27. “What I look forward to most is sharing what I have created with the world and finally seeing it come to life.”
Lara Dizeyee’s journey is more than a career; it’s a heartfelt mission to bring Kurdish culture, resilience, and beauty to the forefront of global fashion.
