In this interview with Chairperson of People's Development Organisation (PDO) Bahar Shukria Munzir and activist, campaign member and PhD candidate in Law, we discuss their My Mother’s Name is My Name campaign. The campaign is pushing for a change in the law so that any child should be allowed to be given his/her mother’s name for any given reason.

The campaign initiated so that those women who have given birth to children born as a result of rape by ISIS fighter, could keep their children. However, this is also apply to every child that is refused by their biological fathers. PDO is pushing for a change in Iraqi law to allow for this change, for any parent to have the option to pass their names to their children.
