Yazidi New Year celebrated in Toowoomba and around the world

The first Wednesday of April is considered the most important holiday among the Yazidis and is commonly referred to as the Yazidi New Year. This event is celebrated every year on the first Wednesday of April, according to the old (eastern) calendar. The Yazidi community in Toowoomba, Queensland is celebrating this important day, with musician Simo Shengaly joining in with his songs.
