Youth vaping: Hidden health risks and growing addiction concerns

We spoke with Dr Ali Ziabari about the growing concerns around youth vaping, noting that despite being marketed as safer than smoking, it still poses serious short- and long-term risks, including nicotine addiction, respiratory problems, and harmful effects on brain development in adolescents. He stressed that young people may be more vulnerable to addiction due to their developing brains and highlighted that the rise in vaping is driven by social media influence, peer pressure, appealing flavours, and targeted marketing.
