Flu surge sends many to hospital this year

As Australia faces a particularly challenging flu season, a marked rise in influenza cases has raised serious public health concerns. In a recent interview with SBS Kurdish, Dr Ali Ziabari from Melbourne provided some of the factors contributing to the increased severity of this year's flu outbreak. He highlighted the dominant flu strains currently in circulation, the reduced population immunity following years of low exposure during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the impact of relaxed public health measures.
