Moomba - capturing the heart and imagination since 1955
Labour Day, March 12 in Melbourne, was marked by a series of activities at the several-day festival called Moomba. A special attraction was the parade where the true diversity of its 2000 participants, including ethnic groups representing China, Spain, Thailand, The Caribbean, Japan, Ukraine and many more. This year's parade was officially opened by representatives of the Wurundjeri tribe with the welcome ceremony. Since 1955, the Moomba Parade has captivated the hearts and imaginations of Melbournians, and to this day revives the vitality and energy of this festival.
