Why Greece proposed "Uppermacedonia" as their preferred solution to the name dispute?

- Despite claims by the Macedonian government that Macedonian ethnic identity, Macedonian nationality, and the name of the Macedonian language cannot be a subject of the discussions, some Greek intellectuals expect these crucial matters to be included in the process. Last month, the Greek Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) issued a publication in which some Greek intellectuals wrote openly about their hopes for a solution "that is going to invalidate the ideology of Macedonianism". Thus, the newly proposed and artificially created term "Uppermacedonia" (single word) is in line with such aspirations.
