Students of Macedonian, as well as a large number of smaller community languages are disadvantaged because of the way they are assessed in the ATAR system when they enrol at university, compared with the 12 larger community languages, that are evaluated differently, says Zaklina Mihailova, President of the Macedonian Education Board for NSW. Mrs Mihajlova attended the annual conference of the Federation of Schools of Community Languages in NSW, with a group of Macedonian language teachers.
