Bill Saravinovski is the first mayor of the newly formed Bayside Council

Former Rockdale mayor Mr Saravinovski was voted into the top job for a fixed two year term by 10 votes to five against Independent councillor Liz Barlow, following the amalgamation of the former Rockdale and Botany Bay Councils.
