"I felt it was my duty to return to Macedonia and offer my help" says the young man from Negotino who received his Master of European Union Law title at a university in France. And as Macedonia deals with its brain drain, Simons life path heads in the opposite direction.

Driven by his love and as he says, duty, he returned to his homeland to offer his international experience, though, considering the political and economical circumstances in Macedonia, he did not expect things to be ideal.

Simon is involved in research that measures and analyses factors crucial to the decisions made by students, whether they return to Macedonia or stay abroad. He hopes the data will help the Macedonian government to create better strategies to attract young people to return after finishing their studies, and offer jobs in their chosen fields with opportunities for professional advancement.

Simon is also a humanist with 10 years of volunteer experience with the Red Cross, where through the "Promotion of Human Values" program they encourage 1,200 young people each year to create projects to assist socially vulnerable people.
