Macedonian Australian author Zaklina Mihajlova presented the importance of illustrations in the books for children who learn languages at the 37th International Board on Books for Young People Congress (IBBY), held this year in Moscow from 10-14 September.


The theme of the congress, in format program on - and offline, was: 'Great Big World Through Children's Books: National and Foreign Literature - Role, Value, Impact on Young Readers in Diffrerent Countries'

Host countries for the influential event in the past were Great Britain, New Zealand, China, Mexico, Norway, Sweden, South Africa, three times Spain and Germany, two times Italy and other IBBY member countries.

The IBBY was attended by publishers, editors, authors and what's' described as a diverse community of storytellers.
