Victoria's Macedonian community will receive a funding boost of $375,000 from the Victorian Government to support the establishment of a new cultural centre in Epping. The new cultural centre will include multipurpose function rooms for regular classes, social activities and festivals. Upon completion, it is expected that 3,000 people from the Macedonian and wider community will benefit from the cultural centre on a weekly basis. The funding is being provided through the Victorian Government's Community Infrastructure and Cultural Precincts (CICP) program.


The new cultural centre will be built in the courtyard of the church "St. George and the Holy Mother of God" in Epping. Will be equipped with a reception hall, a library/classroom, several offices, a lecture theatare/cinema, a radio studio and a museum.

The decision to grant financial assistance on behalf of the Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Mr. Robin Scott, was announced by the MP in the Victorian Parliament for Thomastown, Mrs. Bronwyn Halfpenny.

Mr. Mirco Angelovski expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Macedonian Orthodox Community for Melbourne and Victoria for the financial assistance granted by the Victorian Government
