Government agrees to next steps for Indigenous voice to parliament

Federal Cabinet has agreed to the next step towards establishing a so-called Indigenous "Voice" to advise the parliament on new laws. But with an election fast approaching, the new proposal dashes any hopes the Coalition can keep its commitment to passing legislation for the advisory body in this term of parliament.
