With young people being more tech-savvy than ever, it's important for the adults around them to do the right things to keep them safe. SBS looks at what you can do to ensure that your children have a positive experience online. While technology has many upsides, eSafety commissioner Julie Inman Grant says that negative experiences are also common. "One in five young Australian has had a negative experience online, and that can run the gamut from cyberbullying to image-based abuse to seeing violence or hatred online." The eSafety commissioner website, esafety.gov.au, is a great place to find information about online safety and tips to start a discussion with your child, available in multiple languages.
