Relatively new migrant to Australia from Macedonia, Tanja Filipovska, who originally came to complete a Masters Degree in Sydney, is now the founder of a successful children's socks business - MADMIA. Ms Filipovska's creative and colourful designs, which she accessorises using ears, wings, laces and more, are selling in over 120 stores throughout Australia, as well as in the UK, US, Singapore and Sweden . Tanya Filipovska's business secret is combining a good product with extensive market research, good marketing strategy, engagement with clients thru social media, as well as, 'hard work'. Tanya says, in 5 years she has managed to get the business up and running and regularly checks in with her customers about 'what they want' and 'what they think' about a particular range. Keeping her customers interested in the product is what motivates Tanya to come up with new designs each month, an aspect she researched well before starting her MADMIA. Whilst Ms Filipovska says she discovered a gap in what was available to her demographic, she admits to also solving the problem of the 'mismatched pair' of socks for parents. MADMIA pairs deliberately 'don't match' and that makes things a lot easier, says Tanya, who regularly engages with her thousands of followers at given venues.
