Macedonians around Australia prepare to mark Macedonian Independence

On the 8th of September, Federation Square will be flying eight flags of the Republic of Macedonia to mark the country's Day of Independence. Since 2008, the Macedonian Community Council for Melbourne and Victoria has been organising this event which most Macedonians hold close to their hearts. Whilst the first 7 flags will have been in place from the early hours of the morning, the official raising of the eighth will take place at 10.30 am.
