Led by the idea to promote Macedonian cultural identity within one of the best Australian universities, a year ago, a group of students at the University of Melbourne founded the Melbourne University Macedonian Student Society (MUMSS). In its first year of existence, the club has organised numerous events which celebrate and promote Macedonian culture and traditions including delicious Macedonian food stalls, language lessons, film screenings and guest lectures. Moreover, MUMSS brings together Macedonian and non-Macedonian students and assists non-Macedonian students in expanding their knowledge about the Macedonian community. Anthropology students, Alexandra Anastasova and Blagojce Trajcevski, who are among the founders of the club discuss its mission and activities.
