The Macedonian Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria, at the "St. George and St. Mary Mother of God" church in Epping, on May 26, laid the foundation stone for a new Macedonian center, the construction of which is expected to be completed in 2021. At the May 26 ceremony attended by a limited number of patrons imposed by the COVID-19 restrictions, president Mircho Angelevski said - "I have always been proud of our community but not as I am today. Today's consecration of the foundations of the new Macedonian center marks an important moment for the Macedonian Orthodox Community. The center will have a library, cafe-restaurant in combination with a hall for festivities, commercial kitchen and bar, Macedonian museum, theatre for lectures, a youth radio studio, classroom, conference room and office facilities.
