Three-time Olympic Cyclist Anna Meares has been named team captain and flag-bearer for Australia at the Rio Olympic Games. Organisers broke tradition to name the flag-bearer early so that Meares could enjoy her role in Australia before the Games. The announcement is normally made on the eve of the event, but Chef de Mission Kitty Chiller says this leaves the athletes too exhausted before competing. Meanwhile Brazilian authorities are bickering over security, just one month out from the big event.
