Private Pande-the Macedonian who died during the D-Day landings

Pande Matevski (1914-1944) from Bitola, was an economic migrant in America and the only Macedonian who is known to have died during the D-Day Landings in World War 2. His story was revived and made public by Silvana Petrova Nasuh from Bitola, who researched Matevski’s history and penned the script for the documentary movie "Private Ryan from Bitola" five years ago. Today, 6th of June, when the entire world is commemorating the 75th anniversary of the largest military seaborne offensive of World War 2, we remember the Macedonian fallen hero Pande Matevski.
