Royal Commission into Australia's Aged Care sector gets underway

Victims and their families are being encouraged to speak out as the Royal Commission into Australia’s aged care sector begins. The Royal Commission was established after reports of a number of scandals in the aged care sector, which revealed instances of physical and emotional abuse, neglect, over-medicating residents and physically restraining them.The year-long investigation into Australia’s aged care industry begins in Adelaide, but hearings will be held all around the country, with the aim of getting to the heart of some of the systemic problems within the sector.
