The German government calls for the start of EU accession talks with Macedonia

Minister of State for Europe at the German Federal Foreign Office Michael Roth, sent a letter to the Bundestag stating that according to the conclusions of the European Council held on 26 June 2018, Macedonia and Albania should receive a date for EU negotiations in June this year. European Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, in Vienna, yesterday also expressed his confidence that the Commission will recommend the opening of negotiating chapters with Macedonia before the start of the summer in Europe.
