In 2016, one of the world's prestigious fashion magazine “Vogue” posed the question “Why is Macedonia becoming a foodie destination?”. The answer soon followed "…the people are some of the world’s most welcoming, and the food is among Europe’s most comforting. No matter where you go, every meal is made with passion and love—whether it’s at a hole-in-the-wall in the middle of Skopje or the living room of a farmer in a local village. Not only that, the focus is entirely on quality—which means everything is made from scratch without the additives and preservatives we’re so accustomed to in Western food. “ This inspired us at SBS Macedonian to do some research on the chances of Macedonian food to compete with other cuisines in multicultural Australia, where nearly every ethnic cuisine in the world can be found, but yet only few have a real dominance on the market. In order to get some answers we discussed this topic with several restaurateurs and cafeteria owners, which offer Macedonian food on their menu.
