The Macedonian School Council for New South Wales is celebrating its 40th anniversary, since it was founded back in the 70's. The first official Macedonian language classes were established in Australia in 1976, hosting as many as 450 students who were attending the classes at that time. During the celebratory dinner on Friday night, Zaklina Mihajlova, the president of the Macedonian School Council for NSW, in her speech, reminded Australians of Macedonian origin of the importance of preserving the tradition of studying the language.
