A team of four Australian investigators, probing the brutal murder of 41 year old Indian techie Prabha Kumar in Sydney reached Bengaluru last week.
According to reports the officials have been interviewing Prabha's husband and relatives as part of the investigation into this two year old murder case.
The Indian Express reports that the investigators from Australia are trying to find out whether someone in her family has tampered with the evidence.
There are reports that the investigators have collected evidence that suggests someone tried to tamper with the evidence. A police source said, “There seems to be some concrete evidence with which they are working. They would not travel to India if they did not have some leads.’’ According to an official, the investigators are also working on the call details of multiple people who had connection with the victim.
The team of detectives are expected to return to Sydney over the weekend after completing their investigations in India. They have been assisted by the Interpol and Karnataka police CID unit.
Police revealed last year that they were investigating whether someone in India helped organise the crime.
Prabha, a mother of one was killed at the Paramatta Park in Sydney on March 7, 2015 by an unidentified miscreant. While walking back home from work around 9pm she was on the phone to her husband Arun, who lives in India.
Her valuables, including her vanity bag, wallet, mobile and gold chain were found intact, giving the clue that robbery may not have been the motive behind the murder.
Nearly two years after her death, the incident remains a mystery. Although Australian police have questioned nearly 4000 people it didn't give a lead to the investigation.
