A Nepali woman helping children in prison wins CNN SuperHero of the year.
Pushpa Basnet from Nepal, who works to help children living with their parents in the country's prison has been awarded the CNN SuperHero of the year 2016. Through her not-for-profit organization called "Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC)", Basnet has been working to provide home, food, education and health care for over 100 children that range from new born to 20 year old.
In 2012, Basnet was given the "Hero of the Year" award as well by CNN.
After receiving the latest award, with $50,000 prize money, she said "the most important thing is that you need to believe in yourself, have passion."
