NSW Premier resigns after ICAC announces investigation

More than 18 years in New South Wales parliament for Gladys Berejiklian has come to an abrupt end after the Premier announced her resignation.

For more than three months, New South Wales has been used to its Premier, Gladys Berejiklian, delivering updates on the state's worst COVID outbreak since the pandemic began.

On Friday, a noticeably emotional Premier made her own bombshell announcement - her resignation. 

It followed the state's anti-corruption monitoring service's revelation it is investigating Ms Berejiklian for breach of public trust.
