We play for national pride: Team Nepal in Melbourne Renegades champions league cricket

Nepali cricket players in Australia are representing Team Nepal at the Melbourne Renegades Champions League T20 cricket tournament starting from 28 October. New entrant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander team will be among seven teams showcasing their skills.

The league's founding local teams - Nepal, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and India have been playing since 2016.

The first match on 28 October is between Nepal and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander teams at Ransford Oval Park St, Parkville. Nepali team captain Sunam Gautam says they will be playing for the pride of the nation.
