Kent Yamazaki, 15, was in the Nepali capital Kathmandu preparing for an International Tennis Federation junior circuit competition when he collapsed and hit his head on the court surface on Wednesday.
He was rushed to a local hospital but the medical staff there were unable to revive him.
Tennis WA says Yamakazi didn’t regain consciousness.
Releasing a statement, TWA remembered Yamazaki as "a true gentleman on and off the court who was known for his infectious smile and genuine love of the game."
"Kent was also a dedicated State League Player and a regular competitor on the WA Tournament scene. Most recently, he was a part of the winning Applecross Senior High School Team that won the National Championships in Albury," the statement read.
Following the announcement of his death, many expressed grief on social media.
Suncity Tennis Academy paying tribute to "much loved young man" Kent while his parents Tomio and Kimie wrote on Facebook that "he would be greatly missed" and remembered him as a hard worker.
Europe Tennis Academy also paid tribute and said, "You'd never be forgotten, rest in peace little champ ❤️."
John Neser writing on Facebook says he will be greatly missed by all.
Ascot Vale Tennis Academy in Melbourne also paid tribute to the young star.
"Today is a rough day as the world has truly lost a great human being."
