With an increasing number of Nepali students in Australia taking the NAATI accreditation test to apply for Permanent Residency, many are misunderstanding the test says Madan Mani. Madan Mani is a NAATI accredited interpreter who says many Nepalis giving the test may not be succeeding due to a common confusion.


Many Nepalis wanting to add 5 points to their application for Australia's permanent residency are now taking the CCL or Credentialed Community Language tests for accreditation by NAATI.

Mani, who also runs classes for CCL test in Sydney and Canberra,  says CCL test is not just about literal translation but should be taken as meaning driven translation.

He spoke to SBS Nepali and gave some tips for prospective applicants willing to take the test.
