Human Rights Watch has lambasted Australias refugee policy as "draconian" and has criticized the appalling treatment of indigenous youth in detention and the impact of counter-terror laws. Refugee advocate Parshuram Sharma Luitel believes that biased media and the rise of right-wing politicians have made the matter worse for refugees.
