Chandrakala Thapa is a national athlete who represented Nepal at the Beijing Olympic games in 2008. After sustaining injuries during a national competition, Thapa had been working as a trainer with Nepal Police. But Thapa quit her job and last week and headed to Dubai saying she needed to secure her financial future.
Chandrakala Thapa spoke to SBS Nepali about why she decided to put sporting life on hold and head to Dubai to work as a security guard.
