Power of crowd on the street along with current journalistic practice in Nepal has been discussed intensively after the arrest and subsequent release of television presenter Rabi Lamichhane.


Rabi lamichhane along with journalist Yuvaraj Kandel and Asmita Karki were remanded in custody on August 15 for the alleged role in abetting journalist Shalikram Pudasaini' suicide.

The District Court, Chitwan granted release of the trio on Monday, August 26.

But after their release the whole incident has put spotlight on topics like Nepali journalism, crowd on the street, social media, law and order.

Senior journalist Yuwaraj Ghimire spoke to SBS Nepali about current journalistic practice in Nepal and influence of crowd in decision making.
