Along with Deepa Rai, three other members of Victoria's Nepali community were given the certificate of merit for their work in the community. The receipients are: Niru Tripathi, Bharansher Rai and Hari Gurung.

Deepa Rai has been highly commended for providing outstanding voluntary contribution for Victoria's multicultural community at this year's Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence. She spoke to SBS Nepali about her work within Victoria's Nepali community and what the recognition means for her.
