Nepali community concerned over Bikram Lama case: Calls to expedite DNA test report

The Tamang Society of NSW organised a community consultation to discuss about Bikram Lama on Sunday, 3 May 2026.

Community organisations in Sydney are calling for faster identification processes into the death of Bikram Lama. Lama. Lama, who came to Australia from Nepal, was reportedly found near St James Station in Hyde Park in Sydney last December, where he had been rough sleeping. The Tamang Society of NSW and the Nepali Indigenous Nationalities Forum Australia (NINFA) held a community consultation on Sunday, 3 May, expressing concerns over the distress faced by Lama's family in Nepal.
