Nepal government must honour dead security force personnel as martyrs: Mamata Nagal

More than three thousand men and women serving in the police, para-military force and the army were killed during the decade long Maoist conflict in Nepal. The families of victims of those who gave their lives fighting from the government side are furious. They have accused the Nepal government acting indifferently towards recognising the contribution and sacrifices made by those who served in the government forces and their families. The families of the affected security forces have now come together and created a social organisation to strive for their cause. Lately, they have been organising and participating in a sit-in. The government has not bothered to address the protest which has now entered its second month. We asked one of the organisers of the sit-in protest, Mamata Nagal - what is it that they want from the government and if they feel the government will even take notice.
