Nepali filmmaker Deepak Rauniyar is currently in Sydney for the screening of his latest film, ‘Pooja, Sir’, at the Sydney Film Festival. Known for internationally acclaimed films like ‘Highway’ and ‘Seto Surya’, Rauniyar’s new film premiered at the Venice Film Festival and has since been featured in several global award events. Featuring a female lead, the film has received positive critical reviews. SBS Nepali spoke to Deepak Rauniyar about the film’s journey and the potential role of the Nepali government in promoting cinema on the international stage.
