"Nepali people contributed to my deportation from Lebanon" - Sujana Rana

On December 10, 2016, When Sujana Rana was deported from Lebanon, Human Rights watch said her "arrest and deportation suggests authorities targeted her for her activism". Rana who had been working as a domestic worker in Lebanon since 2007, was also active in working for the rights of other workers like her in the country. On 30 November 2016, Rana was arrested and kept in detention for 10 days before being deported to Nepal. Speaking to SBS Nepali, she also accused members of Lebanon's Nepali community for her deportation.
