As the peak body representing Nepalis in Australia, the Non-Resident Nepali Association Australia was preparing to hold its election to choose new leadership on Saturday, 26 July a new organisation with a similar name the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Australia Limited, was registered with the Australian Securities & Investment Commission (ASIC) on Friday, 18 July 2025. SBS Nepali spoke with Biwek Thapa, who claims he has been given the mandate to coordinate and hold a national convention of the Non-Resident Nepali Association in Australia by its International Coordination Council (NRNA ICC), listen to find out more.
